Kim N. Pearse Elected to GBA Board of Directors

Lenexa, Kan. (March 16, 2009) – GBA (formerly George Butler Associates, Inc.), a leading engineering and architectural firm with headquarters here and offices in the St. Louis and Chicago metro areas, announced today that Kim N. Pearse, PE, has been elected to the company’s board of directors. Pearse joins the current board of the privately held company that includes Michael L. Smith, PE, President and Chairman of the Board; Daniel L. Abitz, PE, Senior Vice President; Timothy J. Ross, PE, Senior Vice President; Donald L. Horine, PE, Vice President; Roy C. Wilson, PE, Vice President; and Richard D. Monroe, Vice President and Treasurer.

As director of marketing for GBA, Pearse leads efforts to position the firm in key markets, overseeing strategic marketing, business development, and associated branding efforts. Prior to this position he headed up GBA’s Structural Engineering Group for 18 years. Pearse earned a BS degree in civil engineering from Kansas State University in 1979 and joined GBA that same year. He was named an associate of the firm in 1995 and promoted to senior associate earlier this year. Pearse is active in numerous civic and professional organizations in the Kansas City area.

GBA was founded in Kansas City, Mo., in 1969 and today has 230 employees headquartered in five offices in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois. The firm serves eight primary markets including building design, transportation, water environment, land planning, civil/site development, municipal engineering, roof consulting, and surveying.
